Lake Charles, LA – Earlier today Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies handed out turkeys instead of tickets for Thanksgiving. Deputies handed out the turkeys to citizens throughout the parish who committed minor traffic violations, such as no seatbelt or speeding. The turkeys were donated to CPSO by Caran and Harry Shaheen, owners of the 5 Star Convenience Stores.
