CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR CRUELTY TO JUVENILES

Lake Charles, LA –

On June 2, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit detectives received several complaints in reference to cruelty to a juvenile after a video was uploaded on social media.

During the investigation, when detectives watched the video, they observed the suspect, later identified as Christopher J. Jolivette, 32, Lake Charles, physically assaulting a girl under the age of 10.  After further investigation, detectives issued a warrant for Jolivette’s arrest.  On June 7, he turned himself in and was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.  He was released later the same day on a $95,000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio.

It was also discovered Jolivette had an active warrant through LCPD for child desertion.

CPSO Detective Sonny Schiro is the lead investigator on this case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
