CPSO DEPUTIES RAISE $10,000 BY PARTICIPATING IN NO SHAVE NOVEMBER

Lake Charles, LA –

“I am so pleased to announce deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office raised $10,000 for charity by participating in No Shave November,” stated Sheriff Tony Mancuso.  “We had over 250 deputies participate in the fundraising and they raised over $8,000.  I was amazed at the amount of money collected and decided I would donate the additional funds to make it an even $10,000.  I am so proud of the men and women who work for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, they always come together to help others in our community, they are some of the finest people you will meet – on and off the job.”

Half of the money will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the other half will be donated to Family & Youth, a local nonprofit that was chosen by the CPSO Support Services Division, the department that raised the most money.  Family and Youth provides affordable and professional support through programs and services dedicated to advocacy, counseling and education to members of our community.

Due to the overwhelming support from deputies for this cause, Sheriff Mancuso has extended No Shave November, allowing deputies to forgo shaving until the end of December.
