Lake Charles –
On November 9, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received a complaint in reference to registered sex offender, Sherman D. Bell, Jr., 39, Lake Charles, having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a juvenile. During the investigation Bell confirmed to detectives he had sexual intercourse with the victim multiple times over the course of the last two years.
Bell was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. His bond has not yet been set.
Bell was convicted of rape & carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2004 in Beaumont, TX.
CPSO Detective Sonny Schiro is the lead investigator on this case.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
