CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR SEXUAL BATTERY & MOLESTATION OF A JUVENILE

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On November 6, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received a complaint regarding William C. Smith, 32, Lake Charles, committing sexual battery on a juvenile.  During further investigation detectives learned of a second juvenile victim.  Detectives were able to obtain evidence corroborating the victims’ statements.   

 

On November 8, after Smith spoke with detectives, he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 7 counts of felony sexual battery; and molestation of a juvenile.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $700,000. 

 

CPSO Detective Kara Adams is the lead investigator on this case.

 

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
