CPSO ARRESTS 2 SEX OFFENDERS FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER

Lake Charles, LA –

 

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit arrested convicted registered sex offender Thaddeus D. Hunter, 60, Lake Charles, after it was learned he had been working in Calcasieu Parish for approximately two months without notifying the proper authorities of his employment information, as required by law for all registered sex offenders.

           

On September 8 he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $65,000.

               

Hunter was convicted of sexual battery in 1994 in Calcasieu Parish.  He was additionally convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in 2019 and again in 2020, both in Calcasieu Parish. 

           

CPSO Detective Lisa Trahan is the lead investigator on this case. 

 

On August 9 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit detectives issued a warrant for convicted sex offender, Nobryan V. McGee, 34, Lake Charles, after an investigation revealed he failed to comply with his sex offender registration requirements. 

           

During the investigation it was discovered McGee purchased a vehicle in December 2021 and failed to register the information with law enforcement prior to the use of the vehicle, making him in violation of his sex offender registration requirements.   

           

On August 9, CPSO deputies located McGee, at which time he attempted to flee on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit McGee was taken into custody, arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $65,000. 

           

McGee was convicted of simple rape in Bossier parish in 2006.  He was additionally convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in 2006 and again in 2010, both in Bossier Parish.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
