Lake Charles –
On Friday, September 2 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint at 668 N. Perkins Ferry Road in Lake Charles to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.
Five hundred and eleven (511) vehicles were checked; two (2) field sobriety tests were administered; one (1) citation was issued for no seatbelt; and two (2) citations were issued for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker.
The following individuals were issued a signed summons and released:
Brooke N. Vaughn, 32, Lake Charles, arrested for DWI 1st
Breanna P. Fontenot, 26, Sulphur, arrested for possession of marijuana
Participating in the checkpoint was the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police Troop D, and the Lake Charles Police Department.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
