CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR 3rd DEGREE RAPE

On September 3 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded a local hospital in reference to a call regarding a rape that occurred earlier that morning.

           

During the investigation detectives received information identifying the suspect as Jose R. Barahona, 23, Lake Charles.  Later the same day detectives located Barahona and after speaking with him he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 3rd degree rape.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $750,000.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
