CONTRACTOR FRAUD RESPONSE TEAM REARRESTS COUPLE

Lake Charles, LA –

Earlier this year, between March and May, the Contractor Fraud Response Team received multiple complaints in reference to Shawn E. Ledoux, 43, and Leigh A. Ledoux, 41, both of West Monroe, DBA Ledoux’s Flooring and More, for possible contractor fraud.

During the initial investigations the complainants stated they hired Shawn and Leigh to install flooring.  The complainants advised detectives they paid for materials but Shawn and Leigh failed to provide the materials or complete the work.  Due to prior complaints, detectives were already aware that Shawn and Leigh were not licensed to complete construction work.

During further investigation Shawn and Leigh confirmed to detectives they did not provide the victims the materials that were paid for.  On August 15 they were both arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and each charged with 6 counts of failure to possess the required license for home improvements; 5 counts of theft from $5,000 to $25,000; and 6 counts of theft from $1,000 to $5,000.  Both their bonds are set at $182,500.

Shawn and Leigh were previously arrested by the Contractor Fraud Response Team for a similar incident earlier this year.

CPSO Detective Allen Cormier is the lead investigators on these cases.
