CPSO ARRESTS WOMAN FOR NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE AFTER CRASH INVOLVING 2 FATALITIES

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On December 23, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 3100 block of Davis Road in Westlake in reference to a crash involving a motorcycle and a four-wheeler. 

           

The investigation revealed the motorcycle and the four-wheeler were both traveling north on Davis Road when the motorcycle struck the four-wheeler from behind.  The driver of the motorcycle, along with the driver and the two passengers on the four-wheeler were all ejected.  The driver of the motorcycle, Trey Augustine, 29, Westlake, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A juvenile passenger on the four-wheeler was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. 

           

On July 17, after further investigation, the driver of the four-wheeler, Heidi A. Corley, 30, Westlake, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of negligent homicide; and off road vehicles authorization for use on the shoulders of certain public roads.  She was released later the same evening on a $155,000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio.
