CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR AGG 2ND DEGREE BATTERY & ARMED ROBBERY

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On July 17 at approximately 9:45 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local hospital after receiving a complaint in reference to a battery.

           

During the initial investigation CPSO Violent Crimes detectives learned the victim had been arguing with an acquaintance at which time Seth A. Barrick, 24, Lake Charles, struck the victim in the head with an unidentified object.  It was also learned Barrick stole the victim’s wallet. 

           

Later the same day deputies located Barrick.  He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correction Center and charged with aggravated 2nd degree battery; and armed robbery.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $110,000.

           

The victim was airlifted to a hospital out of town and is listed in critical condition.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
