CPSO ARRESTS WOMAN FOR THEFT FROM EMPLOYER

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On July 6 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a business on S. Huntington Street in Sulphur in reference to an internal theft.

           

During the initial investigation the complainant advised deputies one of the employees, Ashley E. Bourgeois, 35, Lake Charles, had been using a company credit card for her personal use.  The initial investigation revealed Bourgeois stole over $9,000 since December 2021.

           

Bourgeois, who was terminated that same day, was then arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft $5,000 to $25,000.  She was released on a $7,500 bond set by Judge Clayton Davis the following day. 

           

CPSO Sr. Cpl. Jake Schiro and Deputy Hedgemann Carter are the arresting deputies on this case.  CPSO Detective Lukas Josker is the lead investigator on this case. 

 

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
