CPSO RELEASES RESULTS OF SEATBELT CHECKPOINT IN SULPHUR

Lake Charles –

 

On Saturday, May 28, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police Troop D conducted a seatbelt checkpoint at 1657 Swisco Road in Sulphur.  As a result of the checkpoint, deputies checked 416 vehicles and issued 33 citations.

 

Citations were given as follow:

No seatbelt – 25

No child restraints – 2

Driving under suspension – 3

Expired license plate – 1

Failure to register vehicle – 1

Expired driver’s license – 1

 

Child passenger safety technicians were also present to assist motorists with inspecting and properly installing child safety seats.  This checkpoint was funded by Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
