Lake Charles –
On March 5 at approximately 11:45 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Dispatch was notified by ONSTAR in reference to a possible crash at a boat launch on Old Highway 90.
When deputies arrived they located a car that had driven into the water and was fully submerged. The CPSO Marine Division & Dive Team were deployed and recovered the driver, Christopher L. Williams, 36, Katy, TX, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is continuing and the cause of the incident remains unknown. As mandated by state law a toxicology report will be conducted on the driver.
The Calcasieu Coroner will determine cause of death.
