CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR THEFT

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On February 16 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on 11th Street in Lake Charles in reference to a theft. 

           

During the initial investigation it was learned an unknown man had stolen packages of the victim’s doorstep on two separate occasions, February 12 and February 15.  The suspect stole over $1,000 worth of brand name clothing and household items. 

           

During the course of the investigation detectives received information that David A. Jennings, 39, 925 11th Street, Lake Charles, was possibly responsible for the thefts.  On February 18, CPSO detectives located Jennings at his residence, and while speaking with him he confirmed he was responsible for the thefts.  After a subsequent search of the home detectives located the stolen packages, along with suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the residence.

           

Jennings was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft $1,000 to $5,000; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $16,000.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
