CPSO CHARGES MAN FOR NUMEROUS BURGLARY & THEFTS

Lake Charles, LA –

Between July 8 and October 5, 2020, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to numerous residential burglaries in the areas of Little Drive, Portrush Drive, St. Andrews Drive, and Sassafras Way, all in Lake Charles.

During the investigation it was learned the suspect made forced entry into the homes and stole numerous high valued items such as jewelry and purses.  The investigations revealed the suspect stole a total of over $65,000 worth of items from inside the homes.

After a joint investigation, involving the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, who were also having similar burglaries in their communities, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Justin J. Andrews, 42, Sealy, Texas.  On February 9, CPSO detectives issued warrants for Andrews’ arrest.

Andrews, who is currently incarcerated in Fort Bend County, Texas, is charged with 4 counts of looting; 5 counts of criminal property damage; 4 counts of theft; and simple burglary.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his total bond at $417,500.  Andrews is currently awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests and charges are possible.

CPSO Detectives Kerrick Gabrial, Joshua Couch, Charles Trosclair, and John Coffman are the lead investigators on these cases.
