CPSO INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC FATALITY IN LAKE CHARLES

Lake Charles –

 

On September 30 at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of W. Prien Lake Road and Essex Street in Lake Charles.      

   

The initial investigation revealed a bucket truck was traveling westbound on W. Prien Lake Road when it went off the roadway for unknown reasons.  The truck then rolled over and caught on fire.  The driver of the truck, Leandre A. Goree, 29, Arizona, was airlifted to a hospital out of town and on Saturday, October 2 he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the accident.

 

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and the investigation is still continuing.  As mandated by state law, toxicology testing was performed.
