CPSO ARRESTS STUDENT FOR STOLEN GUN IN BACKPACK AT SCHOOL

Lake Charles –

 

Yesterday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were dispatched to Lake Charles College Prep after receiving a call of a 17 year old boy that possibly had a gun at school.  When detectives arrived they learned the student had been detained by school personnel.  They were advised by the school staff that a handgun was located in the student’s backpack.  After further investigation it was learned the gun had been previously reported stolen through the Lake Charles Police Department.

           

The student was booked in the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with illegal carrying of a weapon in a firearm free zone; and possession of a stolen firearm.
