CPSO INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC FATALITY IN SULPHUR

Earlier today around noon the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Thompson Road and Vassar Lane in Sulphur. 

 

The preliminary investigation revealed a truck driven by Donald L. Young, 75, Sulphur, was traveling north on Thompson Road when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason and exited the roadway, at which time the truck rolled several times.  Young, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the truck.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and the investigation is still continuing.  As mandated by state law, a toxicology report will be conducted.
