Lake Charles –
Yesterday evening, September 12th, at approximately 7:00 p.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to E. Burton St and Isabella Dr. in Sulphur in reference to a one vehicle crash.
Evidence at the scene indicated the car was travelling eastbound on E. Burton St. when the car left the roadway on the south side of the road and travelled approximately 300 feet before hitting a tree.
Natasha Pego, 35, Westlake, the driver of the car, and William Cranford, 41, Sulphur, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is continuing and in accordance with Louisiana state law, standard toxicology testing will be performed on the driver.
