CPSO RELEASES RESULTS OF DWI CHECKPOINT

Lake Charles –

 

On Friday June 29 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint in the 1600 block of Swisco Road in Sulphur to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.

 

Two hundred sixty-seven (267) vehicles were checked; twelve (12) field sobriety tests were administered; four (4) citations were issued for open container; two (2) citations were issued for driving without a license; one (1) citation was issued for no insurance; one (1) citation was issued for obstructed windshield; two (2) citations were issued for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker; and one (1) citation was issued for expired tag.

 

The following individual was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center:

Timothy D. Perkins, 38, Lake Charles, was arrested for possession of CDS II; possession of CDS I; possession of drug paraphernalia; resisting an officer; and failure to ID

Jeremiah M. Spell, 32, Sulphur, was arrested for possession of CDS II; possession of CDS I; and possession of drug paraphernalia

Gloria A. Guidry, 45, Sulphur, was arrested for possession of CDS II; and possession of drug paraphernalia

 

The following individuals were issued a signed summons and released:

Larry A. Jackson, 48, Sulphur, was arrested for DWI

Lauren P. Myers, 22, DeRidder, was arrested for possession of marijuana

Chance D. Cooper, 22, Sulphur, was arrested for possession of marijuana

Tiffany B. Bumgarden, 37, Sulphur, was arrested for possession of marijuana
