CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH SEX OFFENDER REQUIREMENTS

Lake Charles –

On May 21 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Carver Street in reference to a suspicious person.

Once on scene deputies made contact with Jerald J. Ardoin, 40, Lake Charles, a sex offender who was convicted of aggravated sexual battery in 1999 in Calcasieu Parish, as well as failure to register as a sex offender in 2004 and 2010.  When deputies spoke with Ardoin he stated he had been living at a home on Carver Street, which had not been registered with law enforcement.  It was also learned his sex offender ID Card, which is required by law for all registered sex offenders, was no longer valid due to having an incorrect address.  Ardoin also stated to deputies he was in possession of synthetic marijuana, which deputies then located in his pocket.

Ardoin was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to comply with sex offender identification requirements; and possession of synthetic marijuana.  Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $30,000.  Ardoin also has a probation detainer that was issued in Alexandria.

CPSO Cpl. Tyler Jones was the arresting deputy on this case.
