CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR COUNTERFEIT MONEY

Lake Charles –

 

On February 22 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were contacted by the owner of a local restaurant on Enterprise Boulevard in Lake Charles in reference to a former employee, Michael J. Darjean, 37, 502 E. Oak Lane, Lake Charles, attempting to exchange $100 counterfeit bill for U.S. currency.   He was detained by deputies as he was leaving the property and was found to be in possession of U.S. currency from the transaction, as well as, a $100 counterfeit bill. 

 

Darjean was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with monetary instrument abuse.  He was released on March 15 on a $2,000 bond set by Judge Clayton Davis.

               

The $100 was returned back to the restaurant.
