CPSO ARRESTS VINTON MAN FOR THEFT

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On March 8 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a walk-in complaint at the Vinton Law Enforcement Center in reference to a theft.  The victim advised deputies he believed one of his employees, Brandon C. Haywood, 27, 1849 Leo Breaux Road, Vinton, stole his debit card from his vehicle earlier the same day.  The victim also advised deputies there was two withdrawals from separate ATMs, totaling $720 from his account. 

           

After further investigation, detectives observed Haywood on video surveillance making the withdrawals from one of the ATMs.  Haywood was located at his residence, where he admitted to deputies he stole the debit card and made the withdrawals.  He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with simple burglary; and theft under $1,000.  Haywood was released on March 12 on a $5,000 bond set by Judge Sharon Wilson.

           

Detectives were able to recover $627 of the stolen money from Haywood.
