CPSO ARRESTS WESTLAKE MAN FOR ATTEMPTED 1ST DEGREE RAPE & ATTEMPTED 2ND DEGREE MURDER

Lake Charles –

 

On January 25 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Westlake in reference to a disturbance.

 

During the initial investigation the 15 year old victim advised detectives Patrick T. Brown, 49, Westlake, a family acquaintance, was armed with a knife and forced her to expose herself.  The victim then advised detectives Brown began to force himself on her and put the knife to her throat.  She also stated Brown began to choke her while he pinned her to the ground and struck her numerous times in the back of the head with a blunt object.  The victim was able to get away from Brown, but sustained lacerations to her neck and hand.    

 

Detectives made contact with Brown, who was still located at the residence where the incident took place, and he was arrested and into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with attempted 1st degree rape; and attempted 2nd degree murder.  Judge David Ritchie set his bond at $600,000.   

 

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released.
