SHERIFF MANCUSO INFORMS PUBLIC OF SUSPICIOUS VAN IN MOSS BLUFF AREA

Lake Charles, LA –

On October 17 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Park Road and Pine Cone Drive in Moss Bluff in reference to a suspicious van.  During further investigation detectives were advised that a man driving a van stopped two kids in the area, elementary and middle school age, and was asking them personal questions.  “We are currently investigating this incident and following all possible leads.  We also have extra patrol in the area before and after school as a precautionary measure,” stated Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso.  “I want to urge parents to talk to their children about stranger danger and teach them to be aware of their surroundings.”

CPSO detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man.  He is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, with brown hair.  The van is described as silver or grey in color.  If anyone has any information please call the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605.
