Lake Charles –
On August 10, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Hayes regarding Derrick A. Hayes, 33, having inappropriate contact with a 3 year old boy at Hayes’ residence. The victim told detectives Hayes, who is a family acquaintance, bit him on the penis while he was watching him. Detectives also observed injuries on the boy consistent with his statements.
Later the same day, after further investigation, Hayes was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with oral sexual battery. Judge Robert Wyatt set his bond at $25,000.
