CALCASIEU PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE RELEASES INFO TO PUBLIC IN ANTICIPATION OF INCLEMENT WEATHER

Lake Charles –

Due to the likely possibility of inclement weather from Tropical Storm Cindy headed in our direction, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s administrative office, tax office and departments with non-essential personnel will be closing at noon tomorrow, Wednesday, June 21, and will resume normal schedules on Friday June 23.

The Sheriff’s Office has taken necessary actions in preparation for the weather including extra patrols, including watercrafts, starting tomorrow.  Sheriff Tony Mancuso says, “We are expecting this to be a significant rain event.  We will have high water vehicles and boats staged in different areas within the parish, on both sides of the river.  We are prepared to handle any flood-related calls we may receive.”

If anyone finds themselves in an emergency or trapped in their home and needs help evacuating or has any other weather-related issues please call the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 491-3700 or 911 if it is an emergency.
