Lake Charles –
During participation in the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a seatbelt checkpoint at undisclosed location in the parish on Saturday May 27.
This checkpoint will target individuals who are not wearing their seatbelt. Louisiana law mandates that all passengers in a vehicle are to be buckled up, even those in the back seat. This checkpoint will also target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.
This checkpoint is funded by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
