Lake Charles –
Earlier this morning at approximately 5:20 a.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a single car accident near the intersection of Topsy Road and Arnold White Road in Topsy.
The preliminary investigation revealed the car driven by Bradley Joubert, 19, Deridder, was traveling west on Topsy Road when it left the roadway and struck a culvert. Joubert, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unknown if impairment is the cause of the accident but the investigation is still continuing. As mandated by state law, a toxicology report will be conducted.
