CPSO ARRESTS SULPHUR MAN FOR MOLESTATION OF A JUVENILE

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On May 16 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in reference to Dewey G. Burnworth, Jr., 29, 733 W. Lyons Street, Sulphur, having inappropriate sexual contact with an 11 year old boy.  The victim advised detectives that Burnworth, who was a family acquaintance, had inappropriately touched him on several different occasions from January 2015 until February 2017 while he was at Burnworth’s home. 

 

On May 24, after further investigation, Burnworth was arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with molestation of a juvenile.  Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $400,000.
