CPSO RELEASES RESULTS OF DWI CHECKPOINT

Lake Charles –

 

On Saturday April 22 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint in the 600 block of Swisco Road in Sulphur to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.

 

One hundred seventy-three (173) vehicles were checked; twelve (12) field sobriety tests were administered; one (1) citation was issued for no turn signal; and one (1) citation was issued for driving under suspension. 

 

The following individuals were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center:

  • Larry G. Slaughter, Jr., 34, Lake Charles, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and open container
  • Corwin L. Wilson, 34, Ville Platte, LA, was arrested for possession of CDS II; and possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS

 

The following individuals were issued a signed summons and released:

  • Elizabeth D. Lebleu, 28, Sulphur, was arrested for possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Dennis O. Smith, 19, Arizona, was arrested for possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Chase W. Frederick, 31, Kaplan, LA, was arrested for DWI 1st; and open container
  • Joshua L. Armelin, 29, Sulphur, was arrested for DWI 1st; and improper lane use

Participating in the checkpoint were Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lake Charles City Police and Louisiana State Police Troop D.
