CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH SEX OFFENDER REQUIREMENTS

Lake Charles–

On April 2 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies made contact with Thaddeus D. Hunter, 54, 2037 6th Street, Lake Charles, after he was observed walking in the middle of the road on Brick Street in Lake Charles. While speaking with Hunter it was learned he was a registered sex offender and did not possess his sex offender ID Card, which is required by law for all registered sex offenders.

Hunter was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to comply with sex offender ID requirements. Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $3,000.

Hunter was convicted of sexual battery in Calcasieu Parish in 1994 and was initially only required to register as a sex offender for a period of 15 years. The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Sexual Predator Apprehension Team readjusted Hunter’s sex offender registration to start over in 2014 due to his repeated parole violations.

CPSO Cpl. Casey Steech was the arresting deputy on this case.
