CPSO LOOKING FOR MEN RESPONSIBLE FOR COUNTERFEIT CHECKS

Lake Charles, LA –

           

On February 17 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in reference to a counterfeit check, in the amount of $1,870, being cashed at a local bank in Moss Bluff several days earlier.  It was also learned two men attempted to cash another counterfeit check but the bank denied the transaction.  The men were using fraudulent ID’s from Oklahoma and Mississippi with the names Byron Ancalade and Leonard Johns in an attempt to cash the checks. 

 

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance in identifying these men.  If anyone knows their identity, please call Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office lead Detective Edward Curol at 491-3725 or Crime Stoppers at 439-2222.
