CPSO LOOKING FOR SUSPECT IN VEHICLE THEFTS

Lake Charles –

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in vehicle thefts that occurred on December 14 at approximately 1:30 a.m. on McCindy Dr. and Hoben Lane in Lake Charles,

The investigation revealed an unknown male entered an unlocked vehicle in a driveway of a house on McCindy removing various items from the vehicle. This same man removed items from an unlocked vehicle on Hoben Lane.

After viewing the homeowner’s video from their surveillance camera, detectives can clearly see the man has in his hand what appears to be a handgun.

“When criminals start brandishing guns while stealing items from unlocked vehicles, that brings the crime to a whole new level,” says Sheriff Tony Mancuso. “If you hear someone outside near your vehicle in the middle of the night, please do not approach them. Please call 911.”

Also Sheriff Mancuso reminds everyone, “Please, please lock your vehicle once you get out of it. And don’t leave valuables in your vehicle. Thieves are really busy this time of year. Don’t become a victim. Lock your vehicle and bring your valuables inside.”

CPSO detectives are asking that anyone in the areas of McCindy and Hoben, which both run off Tank Farm Rd., who may have information and/or surveillance video of any suspicious activity between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. on December 14, please contact lead detectives David Doucett at 494-4583 or Corey Myers at 431-8081.
