CPSO RELEASES RESULTS OF DWI AND SEATBELT CHECKPOINTS

Lake Charles –

 

On Wednesday November 23, in the 1300 block of North Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff, and again Saturday November 26, in the 2900 block of Post Oak Road in Sulphur, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a combination DWI and seatbelt checkpoint to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics, as well as, people who are not wearing their seatbelt.

 

Between both checkpoints nine hundred ninety-eight (998) vehicles were checked; six (6) field sobriety test was administered; eight (8) citations were issued for no seat belt in use; seven (7) citations were issued for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker; two (2) citations were issued for driving under suspension; four (4) citations were issued for open container; three (3) citations were issued for improper child restraint; two (2) citations were issued for no insurance; one (1) citation was issued for no driver’s license; and one (1) citation was issued for expired license plate.

 

Jeanne D. Lusk, 45, PA, was arrested for DWI; and open container.

Patrick W. Townzen, 35, Lake Charles, was arrested for possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia; and no seat belt.

Cara R. Clement, 33, Sulphur, was arrested for possession of CDS II, possession of CDS in the presence of a juvenile; and improper child restraint.

Krystal D. Carlock, 33, Leesville, was arrested on 2 active warrants.

 

All 4 were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

 

Participating in the checkpoint were Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police Troop D, and the Lake Charles City Police.
