C.A.T. TEAM ARRESTS TWO FOR METHAMPHETAMINE

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On November 9 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (CAT Team) along with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office ACT Team executed a search warrant at the residence of Aaron W. Lavergne Sr., 40, located at 7748 Alabama Avenue in Hayes, as part of an ongoing investigation targeting illegal narcotics activity in the Hayes and Bell City area. 

 

During the search of the residence detectives seized several grams of methamphetamine, 13 MDMA pills, and 25 Phentermine pills.  Detectives also located numerous items of drug paraphernalia that are normally used during the packaging process of illegal narcotics as well as thirty-seven (37) firearms.  During their investigation detectives learned the firearms were present in the home when Lavergne was distributing suspected methamphetamine from the residence.         

 

 Lavergne was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.  Lavergne is charged with distributions of CDS II (methamphetamine); possession of CDS II (methamphetamine); possession of CDS I (MDMA); possession of CDS IV (Phentermine); possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS; and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Judge Michael Canaday set his at $115,000.

 

Detectives also located Jacob P. Granger, 31, 7748 Alabama Avenue, Hayes, outside the home and in possession of methamphetamine.  He was arrested and charged with possession of CDS II (methamphetamine).  Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $10,000.

 

The operation in Hayes and Bell City is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
