CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR 3RD DEGREE RAPE

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On October 14 at approximately 11:30 a.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on Mark Lebleu Road in Lake Charles in reference to a rape. 

 

Upon arrival the victim told deputies that her tenant, Jason P. Potter, 37, Mark Lebleu Road, Lake Charles, showed up at her residence extremely intoxicated and she allowed him in her home to sleep until he sobered up.  She then told deputies after Potter laid down in a bedroom, a few minutes later, she walked in to get a computer, at which time he grabbed her by the hair and raped her.  She stated after he raped her he fell asleep.  The victim was transported to a hospital where detectives observed several bruises to her arms, chest, legs, and back as well as other injuries consistent with rape.  

 

Deputies located Potter passed out inside the home.  He was arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with third degree rape.  Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $40,000.

 

CPSO Deputy Cody Ferguson and Sr. Cpl. Jeff Lognion are the arresting deputies on this case.  CPSO Detective Sarah Stubbs is the lead investigator on this case.
