Lake Charles –

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a free “Ladies Personal Safety” seminar at the CPSO Training Academy, located at 3958 Mallard Cove Drive in Lake Charles.  The initial seminar will be held on Monday, October 3 and repeated on Tuesday, October 4, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., so women can choose either date to attend.  Women will learn defenses against sudden violent attacks, situational awareness, fear management, and basic defenses against common grabs and strikes.

Advanced personal safety classes will be discussed during the initial seminar and anyone wishing to attend those classes may sign up at that time.  The seminar is a progressive workshop; you must attend one of the initial seminars and each advanced class consecutively.

·         ADVANCED PERSONAL SAFETY CLASS I – Tuesday, October 11 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

·         ADVANCED PERSONAL SAFETY CLASS II – Monday, October 17 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

·         ADVANCED PERSONAL SAFETY CLASS III – Monday, October 24 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
