Under the 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is proposing the procurement of six X26P Tasers (holsters and cartridges), five law enforcement trauma kits, five Automatic Electronic Defibrillators (AED), ten water cascade helmets, three water rescue throw ropes, twenty-two Search and Rescue (SAR) mesh personal floatation devices, swift water rescue training for five deputies, rescue throw bags, one telephonic data management software system, and one safety warning sign.

The application for federal assistance under this grant is due by June 30, 2016 and comments from the public regarding this grant proposal are encouraged. All comments are to be directed to Louis Hebert, Planning & Research, at 337-491-3716.
