During participation in the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting two seatbelt checkpoints at undisclosed locations in the parish. The first checkpoint will take place on Wednesday, May 25, and the second checkpoint will take place on the following day Thursday, May 26.
These checkpoints will target individuals who are not wearing their seatbelt. Louisiana law mandates that all passengers in a vehicle are to be buckled up, even those in the back seat.
These checkpoints are funded by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
