Early this morning at approximately 3:00 a.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a traffic accident in the 1900 block of Crawford Drive in Moss Bluff. The investigation revealed Johnny Coe, 46, was driving a motorcycle north on Crawford Drive when for unknown reasons the motorcycle traveled off the roadway. Coe was wearing a helmet but was ejected from his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is unknown and the investigation is still continuing. As mandated by state law, a toxicology report will be conducted on Coe.
Crash Reconstructionist Deputy Roger Thomas is the lead investigator on this case.
