CPSO POSSIBLY LOCATES MISSING SWIMMER

Lake Charles –

On Monday March 28 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a possible drowning at the I-10 Beach in Lake Charles. The CPSO Marine Division deployed three boats with CPSO divers and with the assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard, Lake Charles Police Department, and Wildlife and Fisheries they have been searching the waters around the clock for over 24 hours in attempt to locate the possible drowning victim.

Early this evening, March 29, at approximately 5 p.m. a man that fit the description of the missing swimmer arrived at the beach to swim. The man told deputies that every evening he swims at the beach. The witnesses from Monday night were called to the beach and positively identified the man as the individual they saw in the water. “We are hopeful this is a happy ending to this story, but out of an abundance of caution we will continue to patrol and monitor the waterways in that area,” says Sheriff Tony Mancuso.
