CPSO ARRESTS SULPHUR MAN FOR 3RD DEGREE RAPE & 6 COUNTS OF INTENTINAL EXPOSURE TO THE AIDS VIRUS

On March 2 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a complaint in reference to Brian E. Dowling, 45, 222 Francois Street, Sulphur, intentionally exposing the AIDS virus. During the investigation the victim told detectives one of Dowling’s family members advised her that he was positive for AIDS. The victim stated they had sexual intercourse on numerous occasions between February and March and Dowling never disclosed he had AIDS. The victim also told detectives on one occasion she was awakened by Dowling, who was on top of her having sexual intercourse without her consent.

 

On March 21 detectives interviewed Dowling, who confirmed he did have the AIDS Virus and never disclosed that information to the victim. Dowling was arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 6 counts of intentional exposure to AIDS virus; and third degree rape.

 

Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $100,000.
