CPSO DEPUTY RECOGNIZES MAN ON PARADE ROUTE AND ARRESTS HIM FOR WARRANT FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER

Lake Charles –

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to minimal calls during the Mardi Gras holidays. “This was a pleasantly quiet Mardi Gras for us,” stated Sheriff Tony Mancuso. “We had very few problems. The crowds and parade-goers were well behaved and we issued only a few misdemeanor summonses.”

However yesterday, February 9, due to the keen eye of a deputy working along the Krewe of Krewes Parade route, he recognized Lance J. Wilson, 29, 2803 1st Street, Lake Charles, in the crowd who he believed had an active warrant through Jennings Police Department. The deputy contacted JPD and verified that Wilson was in fact wanted for criminal conspiracy to commit murder. When deputies approached Wilson, he fled and led deputies on a short foot pursuit. Wilson was apprehended, arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and was later transferred to the Jennings Police Department.
