Lake Charles –
On January 1 at approximately 3:20 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Sally Lane in DeQuincy regarding Jon McCarty, 22, 306 Sally Lane, DeQuincy, beating his girlfriend.
Upon arrival the victim, who was hiding outside of the house in the bushes, advised deputies that McCarty, who was intoxicated, had beaten her with the wooden stock of a shotgun. She also told deputies that McCarty beat her in the face, back of the head, back and in the ribs while telling her she wasn’t leaving the house. McCarty was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated battery; and false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon.
Judge Sharon Wilson set his bond at $200,000.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
