CALCASIEU PARISH REGIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING ACADEMY HOLDS GRADUATION FOR 112th BASIC ACADEMY

Lake Charles –

 

According to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso, the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy completed its 112th Basic Academy by conducting graduation ceremonies today for 29 officers representing 10 agencies in the five-parish area. There were 26 officers who completed 320 hours of instruction in all phases of basic law enforcement and 3 officers who completed a refresher course of 90 hours of instruction. All 29 law enforcement officers passed the Louisiana Peace Officer Standard Testing (POST) exam and are now certified as Basic Peace Officers.

 

Nicholas Console, Sulphur Police Department, was selected class president of the 112th Basic Academy.

 

The Highest Scholastic Average honor was awarded to Sabrina Benoit, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

 

Firearms awards were presented to:

Randy Langley, Jr., second; Sulphur Police Department

 

Caleb Young, third; Lake Charles City Police Department

 

Defensive Tactics Honor was presented to Naquan Senegal, Welsh Police Department.

Logan Mills, Caleb Young – Lake Charles Police Department

 

Nicholas Console, Wilton Harmon, Lauren Langner, Randolph Langley, Jr. – Sulphur Police Department

 

Justin Brown – Ward 3 Marshal’s Office

 

Samuel Herndon, Naquan Senegal – Welsh Police Department

 

Eric LeBoeuf, Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Lindsey Francis, Everett Kratzer, Welsh Police Department graduated after completing 90 hours of refresher courses.

 

The Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy is located in Lake Charles and provides accredited training, several law enforcement agencies in the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff Davis. It was established in 1974 and is administered by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso.
