CPSO INVESTIGATES VEHICLE/BICYCLE ACCIDENT WITH FATALITY IN MOSS BLUFF

Lake Charles -

On October 28 at approximately 7:20 p.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to an accident involving a bicycle and a car in Moss Bluff. The investigation revealed Lance Bob, 31, Lake Charles, was riding his bicycle in the middle of the lane traveling west on Coffey Road in Moss Bluff. The driver of the car, who was also traveling west, hit Bob’s bicycle from behind, resulting in Bob being ejected from the bike. Further investigation revealed that Bob’s bicycle had no lights and the area where the crash occurred was dark because there were no street lights.

Bob was airlifted to hospital in Lafayette the night of the accident. He was pronounced dead today from the injuries he sustained in the accident.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor, but as mandated by state law, a toxicology report will be conducted on the driver of the car who was not injured.
