Lake Charles –
This evening around 7:00 p.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Denise M. Howard at a home in Starks. She was a trusty who was working at Calcasieu Parish Animal Control in Lake Charles when she walked off the job Saturday morning. Howard qualified to be a trusty due to her non-violent offender status.
Howard has been incarcerated since July 2015 and was being held for simple burglary; theft of a motor vehicle; and probation violation. She will now be charged with an additional charge of simple escape. Judge David Ritchie signed a $150,000 warrant for Howard’s arrest
