CPSO SAYS HOMICIDE OF MOSS BLUFF MAN IS RELATED TO TROOPER SHOOTING

Lake Charles –

Last night, after the shooting of Trooper Steven Vincent by Kevin Daigle, the Louisiana State Police requested that the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office attempt to make contact with the registered owner of the truck that was driven by Daigle. Deputies drove to the home of the truck’s owner in Moss Bluff, but were unable to make contact with him.

Around 10:00 this morning, the Moss Bluff man’s employer called the Sheriff’s Office to report that he did not report to work today and he had not called in which was very unlike him. Deputies responded to his home in Moss Bluff to check his welfare.

While the deputies were enroute, they were informed by the State Police, who were interviewing Daigle this morning, he led investigators to believe there was an altercation at the victim’s house in Moss Bluff. Daigle is reported to have lived at the house with the victim. Once deputies arrived on the scene, they forced entry into the house and found the victim deceased.

The name of the victim is not being released until notification of next of kin.
